Great southern cooking. My girlfriends and I had lunch here it definitely brings us back to the carolinas. You won't find many places that have biscuits like these! The service is great. Parking can be tough some times.

Shabby chic looking. Parking is along side the streets. It's definitely a breakfast place. I ordered the South Carolina Benny (smoked gouda grits, arugula, pulled pork, Pimiento cheese, brown gravy, over easy eggs on biscuit) - it was a savory, quality tasting benedict. Each table had a wooden box of different kind of hot sauces, which help spice it up. SDK seemed to be more focused on the Southern comfort look as their selling point.

For it's chill vibe, charm, location, layout (although small), outdoor seating and service this place won me over. We arrived right when they opened and were greeted and seated immediately. Being one of the first in the restaurant, we got to choose our table. There was an opening right by the window with a bench seat and a couple of chairs which was an adorable spot. When you walk in and see all the fresh pastries, it is hard to say no to them, but luckily the menu had a good variety so we resisted the temptation. I will however be back to try one soon! I started with the mocha which was quite delicious and a little over flowing but it made it kinda fun. For my main meal, I decided on the BTLA (bacon, tomato, lettuce and avocado) on a biscuit with a side of fruit. Presentation was on point and it almost looked to good to eat. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the bacon jam which was way to over powering. I felt the lettuce was soaked in it and every bite just seemed to have the flavor. Outside of that, I enjoyed my meal. Next time, jam on the side cuz it really needs to be controlled as it is a unique/interesting/not for everyone kinda taste. Parking is street only and can be tough at times, but worth the struggle to find a spot to give this place a try.

Tried Sweet Dixie Kitchen for the first time this weekend. Indoor and outdoor patio seating available. The interior decor is super cute! Brettswitch ($12) consisted of a jalapeño biscuit with a good amount of fluffy eggs, cheese and bacon! I asked for the sausage on the side to dip with the biscuit instead of on top. There is a small / narrow parking lot that fits about 6 cars, otherwise there was plenty of metered street parking. Great service provided by Joffrey.

Delicious breakfast! I ordered the South Carolina Benny, which had jalapeño cheddar grits, pimento cheese, roasted pork and an egg on a biscuit. So good! My sister ordered one of their skillets, which was also very good. We arrived a little before 11am and only had to wait a few minutes although we had to sit outside on the sidewalk. The tables are covered by umbrellas but it was starting to get pretty warm. The only downside is that the restaurant is cash only, though they do have an ATM inside. The restaurant has a small shop inside as well where you can purchase biscuits and jam.

Sweet Dixie Kitchen on a Sunday morning was a great choice for the family. The interior was bright and airy and the furniture was eclectic. It felt like we were dining in a house rather than a street cafe. The set up and variety of eating areas was very cute and unique. I had plenty of time to look around and admire the interior design as our food took a very long time to arrive. If the place was packed, I could've better understood the delay but, it wasn't. In fact, it was surprisingly empty for a weekend brunch hour. But the wait was lengthy still. I ordered the waffle sandwich and we got the biscuit sampler and bourbon chicken sliders to share. The biscuit sampler included a jalapeño cheese biscuit and a basil gouda biscuit with tomato jam, pimento cheese, and savory butter. The biscuits were great! - flaky, buttery, and flavorful. The sliders sounded good and the chicken was very well seasoned but the presentation of chicken, slaw, and bbq sauce topping small sliders made for quickly soggy buns. I really liked this place but the wait (one hour after being seated) was rather ridiculous. I couldn't imagine trying to eat here on a busy day. They didn't seem ready for the crowd for sure and this was confirmed when they told us that the crab omelet that we wanted wasn't available because an employee was just then (at 9:30am) heading to the store to buy crab. The food was great but the execution needs some work. 3.5 stars

Lets go with four stars here. Fun, East Village corner eatery with some character. Service for breakfast was super friendly. We sat outside and didn't get approached even once by panhandlers... maybe it was too early??? Our food was good, and i will say that if you seek out good Monte Cristo sandwiches, try it here! Made the traditional way with thick bread, and real ham and turkey! Not thin deli sliced from a package, this stuff is thickly sliced and awesome. Loved it!!!

Delightful breakfast place. Yes, it is small and there will be a wait most likely. We came for sunday brunch around 10 and had to wait about 30 mins. it's challenging to wait inside as you end up in the way of the servers buzzing around. As long as you aren't in a hurry and willing to take next table available inside or patio, its not terrible. We sat on the patio and it was a lovely day for that. I'm not sure what others are talking about with slow/poor service. Our server was completely on point and really stayed on top of efficiency during our entire stay when I mentioned my limited time after his introduction. We had reviewed the menu and were ready to order right away and after serving food he even prompted getting our check so everything could be processed quickly. I really appreciated it all. I decided on the BTLA BISCUITWITCH (organic field greens, smashed avocado, arugula, roasted pork, over easy eggs and brown gravy) and it did not disappoint. It was actually way too much food for me and I could not finish. Wish i could have; it was delicious. We also split a french press of the organic coffee (forget the name) and it was also quite good. This is listed as meant for 2 servings, but I found that you could pour 3 cups worth without a problem...esp with the small coffee cups it is served with. Everyone enjoyed our meals and stay, i would definitely come back.
